New Orleans, Louisianian, Cathy Boullosa, in the
quaint City of Oviedo, just outside of Orlando,
Florida. Growing up in New Orleans could inspire
any one to cook...
From the start of my life, I was surrounded by, who I believe, were the best cooks in the city -- my mom, my grandma and relatives. As I grew older and became their kitchen helper, my culinary skills developed stead-fast (or was it a DNA trait I was born with?) Either way, I love to cook!
For over 35 years now, I have been cooking and baking for family and friends with the knowledge and inspiration from my heritage past. What better muse can you ask for?
Several years ago while living in Mississippi, when my backyard garden bloomed with an abundance of figs, tomatoes and cucumbers, my cooking talents turned a new leaf....canning! With too many fresh fruits and vegetables to eat or give away, it became evident to learn how to preserve them for future use. Hence, my endeavor became canning jams, jellies, preserves, relishes, etc.
To date, I have created over 75 varieties to share with you. I hope you have (had) the opportunity to enjoy them all!
